Tobias Schneebaum...Two drawings...First Time on the Market - $1,999 - (Yarmouth, ME)

These two drawings by Tobias Schneebaum were given to my mother in about 1960, a gift from Mr. Schneebaum who was a colleague of her's through his association with Tiber Press in NYC. They have been with us since then. One of them seems to be of a scene recognizable in the documentary 'Keep The River On Your Right', filmed when he returned to visit the Asmat tribe in South America. Mr. Schneebaum had 'disappeared' into the jungle in the mid-50's and years later wrote a book by the same name and later returned with a film crew for the documentary. About 20 years ago, I had these reframed at a frame shop in Portland, Maine. Drawings measure about 8x12 inches, framed they are about 13x17 inches.
