Large Swedish Midsommar Horse & Rider..made in Gotland ..whimsical - $564 - (Arroyo Grande, CA)

This horse and rider....at 16" tall and 19 3/4" long.was hand carved on the Island of Gotland in the early 1900s in Sweden and found in 2008 in a little antique shop there. The Horse and Rider is very old but the painting on the horse was done at a later date..... however the story about the Horse and Rider is written on the base in Swedish where you can see the words but on the very bottom where you cannot see until you tip it over are the English words about the story of this horse. This is a very special and very rare item and if you love old Sweden you will love this. It would fit in beautifully with your dala horse collection and please email any questions about it.
