This artisan made Georgian roombox features a unique corner fireplace, elegant molding, and wainscoting. It is a one of a kind work, made completely by hand, with emphasis on historic accuracy. The 1:12 scale room depicts the 1740's/50's space of a large, wealthy household, nestled somewhere in the mid-Atlantic states. The room offers great display possibilities, with a commodious layout that can nicely house a miniature collection. It features a custom made mahogany and ebony exterior, with removable display window, and conveniently placed power controls. The interior woodwork was custom made for this project. This artisan made roombox is truly an original. The lighting is comprised of LED light strips, tucked behind the window, and on the sides of the rooms opening. These long lasting lights are rated for approximately 15,000 hours of use. There is an on/off control, and a dimmer switch, which allows the lighting to be adjusted from extremely dim, to extremely bright, or anywhere in between. Keeping the lights on their highest setting may cut the life expectancy short, however keeping the lights set "half way" can potentially extend the life of the lights two fold. The pictures in the listing show the lights at about half power.Due to their exceptionally long life span and controllability, LED's in miniature are becoming the preferred lighting of museums. Replacing these lights requires some custom work, but the lighting and wires are accessible through inconspicuously placed access panels. However, under normal home use, and on less than full power, these lights will likely last a lifetime.
