VINTAGE GOLDEN EYE DRAKE DUCK DECOY: #D-177, Ontario - $170 - (Wasaga Beach, ON)

VINTAGE DRAKE GOLDENEYE DUCK DECOY # D-177 Solid body wooden decoy.Head has painted yellow eyes and is slightly turned to the right.Carved wing tips and carved in tail feather groups.Measures 14” inches , by 6” inches, by 5 ½” inches high.Condition: Very good in body and paint with no splits or cracks.Comes with lead weight on the bottom for ballast and a leather decoy line attachment.Carver unknown.Found this decoy in an Midland Ontario antique shop in the early 1970’s . It has that Port Severn look to it and does remind me a bit of the style of Oliver King. In that there are hatchet marks on the bottom of the decoy where the carver was shaping the body. The initials CC are stamped into the bottom not sure if carver or hunter.Great folky looking lure.
