Maine Estate Pair Circa 1890s Black Folk Art Rag Cloth Doll Dolls - $1,996 - (Winterport, ME)

Recently found here in coastal Maine. A nice pair of antique folk art black dolls. About 15"H, with cloth bodies and paper mache heads. Lower legs are filled with sand to allow them to stand. I believe that they date circa 1890s or there about. Used estate condition: light soiling, staining, foxing, and toning to clothes; each paper mache face exhibits some wear; photos reflect condition quite well; still solid & sturdy but will need respectful handling. These antique folk art dolls have great character and are just plain fun to look at. If I've charged too much for shipping, I'll will refund the difference. No sale outside of the country.
