Cloth Artist Doll - Anne Mayer Hesse, "Twisted Sister" - $80 - (Blacksburg, VA)
The pink artist doll was purchased from Anne Mayer Hesse and is called "Twisted Sister." Ms. Hesse is a member of the Piedmont Craftsmens - a juried artist gallery. I purchased this doll directly from the artist. The arms and lega can be twisted into different shapes. With the legs fully extended the doll is approximately 24 inches. She is a great wall hanging. Anne Mayer Hesse has been working in mixed media, doll making, weaving, basket making, beading and fibers since the mid 70s. Often she will combine the different disciplines to create outrageous new work. Annie has won numerous awards for her creations at art festivals throughout the country, has been written up many times in newspaper and magazine articles, has been featured in 6 different books on doll making and has twice been invited to participate in the White House Christmas Collection of Crafts (1992 and 1999). From a non-smoking home. It has hung on a wall and is in excellent condition. Original cost $175.00.
