He created and built "Sycamore City", a miniature Western Town that served as an interesting historical landmark and place for visitors for many years in Seneca. He was featured in the program "Renaissance Man" which was the winner of the 11th Chicago International Film Festival.Sycamore City first opened in 1968, one of the South's first theme parks or sorts. The town contained a saloon, a church, a general store and more. Land was also an actor and made films with Slim Pickens. Land also helped to create the Salem Rodeo 1949-1960.
