Antique African Yoruba Tribe Beaded Noble Man's Bata Ileke Shoes Nigeria, Africa - $500 - (Williams, OR)
This is a rare, pair of very old, antique, Yoruba tribally made and used, glass seed beaded, nobleman's shoes with hand crafted, layered, thick leather soles. These Yoruba beaded shoes are called Bata Ileke by the Yoruba and are part of a Nobleman's beaded regalia which is worn to ceremonies or special occasions. This is a very old pair.This set of museum quality Yoruba shoes measures 10.75 inches long by 5 inches wide. These antique Yoruba shoes are in good condition with a lot of wear to the soles of the shoes with some missing leather especially more to one shoe which has a missing chunk of sole and damage to the leather border which goes around the top of both shoes.
