The bore of the horn is .438" (Conn #1 bore). The bell is 5 1/8". The engraving is crisp and clean, and reads "C. G. Conn Ltd./ Connstellation/U.S.A." This horn looks very good; there are only a few small spots of wear and some areas of very light pitting, and a few small dings. The valves have very good compression, show little wear and feel very mechanically sound, with no wiggle from side to side. The throw slides also function properly. The minor imperfections are visible in the pictures, and none of it affects the playability of the horn. This instrument has been professionally cleaned in our shop. This horn is not lacquered; therefore fingerprints should be wiped off after use if the player wishes for the horn to stay as shiny as it is now--if they are not wiped off then the horn will develop a lovely patina.
