TON KLAR THE DAVID MADE IN GERMANY FOR WILLIAM LEWIS AND SON No. 168 WITH CASE - $560 - (Niles, MI)
I will try and describe this very nice violin as well as I can . This says on the label . TON KLAR The David . Made expressly for William Lewis and Son . Chicago Illinois , No. 168 , 00230 . This is in very nice shape with not cracks or scratches or damage of any kind . There are two small scuff/dings on the front , and two on the back . I am sure this is just from being played a few times , and you will have a time finding them if you enlarge the view on the pictures , they are on the very edges of the one side on top and one side on the bottom . The bow says GERMANY , and I can only make out part of the name and it is JOSEPH , then the last name seems to start with a K _ _ _ _ _ R . If you know about good violins maybe you can figure out who the bow was made by . The bow still has most of the hair and is playable . The case has 3 storage areas and is a very high quality case and is solid with no damage and the case is 31 inches long . The only violin I could find with the Ton Klar , the David information sold for $600.00 , so I am asking for a fair price lower than that . I hope someone can use this very nice instrument , one of the nicest I have found . Thanks for looking . Buyer pays shipping . I will pack this carefully , and insure it fully .
