Selmer SBA Tenor Saxophone '1952 in EXCELLENT CONDITION with AIR CASE - $16,000 - (Miami, FL)
I bought this Selmer SBA saxophone 6 years ago following the advice of my friend Freddie Gregory, who knew about this instrument, and I was amazed by its excellent condition although it's over 60 years old -- no dents or any visible damage, just a few rubs and scratches from normal handling -- and it still has the original lacquering finish. This saxophone had a single owner - a musician, who used two instruments - one for everyday work, and the second one for studio recordings and concerts. Freddie knew I'd been looking for this instrument, and convinced the owner to sell it to me at a very steep price -- but once I tried it, I had no doubt it was worth it. It has very focused sound throughout the entire diapason with very rich and distinctive tone, very easy to play (even in the high register). In my opinion, this is the best one in the entire SBA series, and I am asking top dollar for it -- those who know these instruments love them and will understand why. Comes with an air case.
