Asian Buddhist temple wood antique stupa finial 17th century? Reliquary - $1,650 - (Champaign, IL)

An Asian stupa, or finial. I really don't know much about this. It looks very old! I was told it was 17th century. Maybe Chinese, Nepalese or Tibetan. It stands about 33" tall, and is about 10" across and 3" deep. I would love to find out more about this piece, so please if you know what this actually is, I would welcome hearing from you.
