The original doll was approx. 12" tall and was constructed with a composition head, wood segmented body, curly black molded hair, side glancing eyes and dressed in a molded dress. Betty Boop is an animated cartoon character based on a Jazz Age flapper and was created by Max Fliesher in 1930. She has also been featured in comic strips and mass merchandising, and continues to appear in popular culture to this day.
