JOHN F. KENNEDY. A single strand of President John F. Kennedy’s hair encapsulated in an Upper Deck trading card. The card measures 3.5” by 2.5”, was created in 2008, and is in overall fine condition. In addition, the hair has been authenticated by and is accompanied with a certificate of authenticity on verso from John Reznikoff, the owner and operator of the largest historical documents and relics company (University Archives) in the world. SINGLE STRAND OF PRESIDENT JOHN F. KENNEDY’S HAIR ENCAPSULATED IN AN UPPER DECK TRADING CARD The hair was collected by barber Harry Gelbart after giving Kennedy a haircut at the Santa Monica beachfront home of actor Peter Lawford (likewise a Gelbart client) in July of 1963. Gelbart recalls the meeting in a statement to John Reznikoff, “On one occasion, on a Sunday afternoon in July 1963, after giving the President a haircut… I collected the hair I had cut to save as a memento”. AUTHENTICATED BY AND ACCOMPANIED WITH A CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY FROM UNIVERSITY ARCHIVES Two similar items that contain Kennedy’s hair sold for $1,800 at RR Auction in October of 2013 and $1,792.50 at Heritage Auctions in November of 2010.
