Towers. The painting was created ca.1930s, it depicts a breathtaking landscape of the Rocky Mountains in Banff National Park, Canada. Matthew C. Towers was affiliated with Manitoba Society of Artists since 1928. He is best known for his colorful landscapes. He loved mountains and many of his works were created in Banff National Park. Provenance: The painting is signed by the artist, MATTHEW C. TOWERS , in the left bottom corner. The back of the painting features the original sticker of the T. EATON Co LIMITED CANADA PICTURE DEPARTMENT. In early days the “T. EATON Co” used to sell high end art, the sticker attached was in use around 1930s. The back is signed by hand “WHEN STREAMS MEET BANFF CANADIAN ROCKIES”. The painting is in original elegant frame, ready to be displayed. The oil painting is as seen in the photos. Measurements: The frame measures approx. 18” long and 14” tall. The painting measures 14.5” long and 10.5” tall. Condition: The oil painting, signed by the artist is in excellent condition and beautifully framed.
