The first is a New York National Guard coat button. It has a gilt brass front and silver plated reverse. The second button is a Connecticut Governors Foot Guards staff coat button. It has a silver plated front and shows some use wear. They both have depressed Scovill backmarks. They both have their shanks. They measure 21 & 23 mm's in diameter. Please look at my other auctions.
