RARE! WW2 German 10x80 Flak Binoculars Emil Busch AG CXN Doppelfernrohr CLEAR! - $1,800 - (Traverse City, MI)
For sale is this EXTREMELY RARE set of original German made WWII binoculars! Manufactured by Emil Busch AG, Optische Industrie, Rathencow, and marked with the code D.F. 10 x 80 CXN. There is a 4 position filter wheel which rotates freely with undue effort, and the filters are all undamaged. Eyepieces rotate freely, and the inter-ocular separation dial is fully functional. There are some normal scratches on the body but considering their age they are in GREAT condition! Lens glass looks very good with no haze, fungus, or damage visible. There is one small dent on the casing of the right eyepiece but it does not effect function whatsoever. These also include a headrest attachment (appears to be missing one bolt) as is pictured. I will also include a nice camera bag that has high density foam custom cut to fit these glasses. These Busch glasses are marked with the code "cxn" in order to identify the manufacturer, and 2 lubrication codes are also incused into the body. These were very popular war trophies at one time, but most have subsequently vanished into collections. These were fairly available until about 1997 for around $1,000-$1,200 for average condition glasses, but that supply has long since dried up resulting in their value more than doubling! These are highly sought after for astronomical use, especially for viewing the Milky Way and star clusters!
