Vintage 3x2 Krauss Rollette Roll Film Folding Camera, Rare, in VG to E Condition - $250 - (Elkmont, AL)
For sale, a rare Krauss Rollette folding roll film camera. I found a little information about these online and believe this one would be dated 1928. It is in remarkable condition for its age. The bellows are soft and supple, no tears, cracks or light leaks I could see. The lens is clear and clean. The shutter seems to operate normally however I did not do a speed test to see if it was accurate. The camera opens and unfolds very easily, the focus mechanism seems to operate normally, and the camera is easy to close. The back locks firmly into place, and unlocks and opens easily to reveal a clean film chamber and plane. There is one small scuff mark on the leather covering but otherwise it is in pristine condition. There are several places around the frame where the black paint has been rubbed or chipped away, but that is the only fault I can find with the camera. Several websites describe the camera as quite rare, and on eBay I could only find 2 others... One in Australia and one in Germany. The photos are of the actual camera you'll be bidding on.
