Antique Bolivian Aymara Aguayo Ahuayo Manta Lliklla Textile - $550 - (Hattiesburg, MS)

Beautiful, unique vintage Bolivian hand-loomed ahuayo manta from the 19th century made with natural cochineal dyes. This garment is actually called a lliklla (these have the decorated braided edging). Unique style, design, and color possibly from the Bolivar region of Bolivia. Excellent condition with two repaired areas (see photos) that were repaired with amazing cultural textile skills (most likely by the original owner).Purchased in 1992 from antique textiles dealer in La Paz, BoliviaMeasurements: 44" x 47"Please disregard the wrinkles in the photos; they appear pronounced because of the lighting, but they actually smooth out completely.
