Aliferous: having wingsâ? - N.A. - (Silverton, OR)
For the month of April, Lunaria’s main carousel features paintings by Lori Rodrigues, and new work by jeweler, Helen Nute Wiens. Together they present their show titled, “Aliferous: having wings”. On display in the Loft are creations by underwater photographer, Kevin Gray, and nature-themed paintings by artist Chuck North. The shows runs April 5 - May 1, Lunaria Carousel, Silverton. Carousel hours are 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Opening reception is Friday, April 7, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A native Oregonian, Rodrigues began painting in oil at the very early age of seven. By the mid-1990s, she had become 1 of Silverton’s well-known mural artists, known then as Lori L. Webb. Throughout her career, her enjoyment of the natural environment, and the love of exploring other cultures through travel have been strong themes in Rodrigues’ artwork. Recent trips with her husband to the Southwest, Costa Rica and the Yucatan inspired the settings for her latest subjects.
