CIVIL WAR 5th Mich. Vol. CAVALRY POST 45 Brass Plaque Trivet D.Hain Veteran Name , Philip Bisbee . This came out of a private collectors estate . The 5th Regiment Michigan Volunteer Cavalry was a cavalry regiment that served in the Union Army during the American Civil War . It was part of the famed Michigan Brigade , commanded for a time by Brigadier General George Armstrong Custer . Great patina & condition! View the photos closely for the best description and measurements. I found only a picture of one on a Civil War website , they referred to it as a trivet , it has 4 iron hoops that may have been feet ? One is broken off , it also has a hole on the top back that may have had a stand that folded out or it could have hung . This can be a Great addition to your collect !
