This cast iron "Safe" coin bank was patented in June of 1896 and manufactured by the J.& E Stevens Co. of Cromwell, CN. It measures 3 5/8" tall x 2 1/2" wide x 2 1/4" deep, and is in good condition: the locking mechanism is complete and works. Key included. There are no breaks, cracks, or other damage. Very nice detail on all sides and top of the bank, and inscribed on a banner on the front is "Safe". The original nickel plate finish is still evident on most of the bank, and though there are some light rust spots and tarnishing here and there.
