1930s ART NOUVEAU LAMP W/ REVERSE PAINTED SHADE– PITTSBURGH - $535 - (Fayetteville, NC)

This 1930s Art Nouveau table lamp with reverse painted shade was made by Pittsburgh [Pittsburgh Light, Brass & Glass (PLBG CO) 1800 in raised letters on the bottom). It is made of cast iron (base, stem & shade holder), cast metal (heat cover & shade cap) & brass (socket cover). It has been restored in aged metallic brass. The reverse painted shade is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips. There is an original light spot (2 1/2” by 3/8”) at the bottom edge (see photo), maybe a smear before the reverse painting was sealed & baked on. The lamp stands 19” tall & is 12 1/2” in diameter. The lamp base is 7” wide. The original pull-chain light socket has been rewired with new brown cloth covered cord & a new 'antique style' grounded bakelite plug. The lamp weighs 6 lbs.
