This oboe had a complete overhaul in July, 2016, and has not been played since the overhaul. This oboe should be treated as a new oboe and will need to go through a breaking-in process by playing for no more than 10 minutes per day for the first few weeks, or month, to avoid cracking. All tenon and key corks were replaced and all new cork pads were installed. The overhaul was performed by a well-known Calif. oboe repair technician who specializes in oboe and bassoon repair. She also plays oboe professionally. It can be returned to the oboe technician for up to one year for a free minor adjustment but the new owner will have to pay shipping both ways.King Marigaux oboe in excellent condition with a very nice tone and excellent, stable intonation. Full conservatory system including left F, resonance F, low resonance Bb, 3rd octave key. Very nice, polished wood. There are no cracks or chips anywhere including no cracks between the upper trill key holes. The mechanism is tight and functions perfectly. The keys and mechanism are still very shiny with no plating wear but the mechanism and keys do show use. This oboe was used by a non-smoking professional oboist who took meticulous care of it. The original case is excellent condition also. Case hinges, latches, cover and insides are perfect with nothing broken. There are no smells.
