This massive 1996 kilo and half-kilo silver proof wildlife set features two of the very last coins struck by Zaire. The 10,000 Nouveaux Zaires 100 mm kilo coin depicts a gorilla in the jungle...while the 5,000 Nouveaux Zaires 90 mm half-kilo coin captures a leopard lounging on a tree branch. Kilo silver proofs are not common, and half-kilo proofs are even scarcer. But a set of both together is a very unique collectible. In addition, of course, collectors always love the last coins from a country, and wildlife theme coins are also incredibly popular. Furthermore, ONLY 1,000 sets were produced. Moreover, it goes without mentioning that both coins are NGC certified at or near the tops of their populations.The proofs were minted at South Africa’s Cape Mint.
