This is a complete 16 Track Harddisk Recording solution. Harddisk Recorder, Backup system and Remote Control.The Akai DR 16 is the most popular/successful Harddisk Recording System ever built. I had a total of six DR4's , one DR8, and 5 DR16's during the time of 27 years. The one up for sale is the last one I'm selling. It was the spare one and it had very little use. We used it the last two weeks for restoring and transferring audio. The whole system worked without a single hick up. The DR 16 is in mint condition with its protective plastic still attached, the warranty seals in tact and has an internal 18 GB SCSI Harddisk installed.Furthermore is the SMPT sync cards as well as the MIDI card installed. The Sony DDS 4 DAT Tape backup system is in a Glyph enclosure. I have to mention that both drives work perfectly, but on Drive # 1, the lid for ejecting the disc has to be manually pressed in, in order for the Cassette to by ejected. However, only one of the tape drives is needed to Backup and Restore the Harddisk. The second drive is a bonus and could be used, in case the other would become defective. The remote DL16 was used a lot and does have some scratches on the edges to the remote. Also the Power connector has a corner of the plastic chipped off.Other then that, it is working perfectly.I would have a stand on rollers also available for additional costs.
