2 nifty vintage advertising needle books for a collection, inspiration board, gift, or sewing basket - scroll down for details: * A relic from McDaniel's Markets' relatively brief (from what we can tell, early '50s-early '60s) presence in Southern California, this needle book features a jaunty, kilted, bantam-sized chap (possibly 'McDaniel'). 5" tall; 5" wide across the top. The exterior is moderately worn, with some age-discoloration & wrinkling around the corners. Inside are 18 mint, unused needles. 'Made and printed in Western Germany' is printed on one side. Rare/collectible. * A green National Food Stores needle book; probably from the early-mid '50s. Marked 'Japan,' it retains 38 mint/unused sewing needles. 5 3/4 x slightly under 3 1/2". There's darkening/discoloration to about 1/3 of the finish on both sides. Otherwise, the cover has moderate overall wear.
