PHASE LINEAR 4000 Stereo Autocorrelation Preamplifier by Bob Carver - $188 - (Aberdeen, WA)

Vintage Phase Linear 4000 made by Bob Carver a couple hours drive from here. The unit was recently purchased from a Seattle estate. When someone states it works mint that means when it arrives it will probably be in the same condition as this one. When I connected to the power amp one VU meter shot to the moon so I shut it down and am offering for sale here. There's numerous web articles about these units and their generally easy albeit time consuming repairs required. One of the boards is loose to the touch and likely needs soldering. There is foam attached to the cover to combat these issues. One rca jack is broken and one on tuner output is loose. The previous owner approached the tape 1 jack in his unique way which could be return to stock if desired. I am confident he was capable having retired as the lead in retrofitting the USN battleships with upgraded sonar/radar. The house was stuffed with associated items. Normally I'd have taken this to a tech for repair however there are no competent people in the general area. What it comes down to is cosmetic condition. The unit has a nice face, and panels outside of a couple small flaws on it's top. Rather than bidding with hope to win a unit we are offering the unit with buy it now price and you'll have it on it's way.
