The SRH Compound Meter is essentially two meters within a single, cast bronze housing. All water enters and passes through the turbine chamber. At low flow rates, the water is diverted up through the positive displacement (bypass) measuring chamber. After passing through this chamber, the water passes over the valve and out of the meter. As the flow rate increases, the pressure against the swing action valve increases, forcing the valve to quickly swing to a full open position.
