AN ARTS & CRAFTS HEINTZ PEN HOLDER/CARD PLATE STERLING ON BRONZE #1009 1912-1930 - $75 - (Redlands, CA)
This card plate or pen holder is among the the various desk accessories (#1009) produced by the Heintz Art Metal Company during the American Arts and Crafts Period. It has an elongated oval form with slightly raised sides; it is decorated with a sterling floral sprig overlaid horizontally off-center. This piece looks dainty and quite elegant. It is in very good condition. No dents but with some blemishes and tarnish that are natural to age and exposure are evident. The back/bottom has great patina but also shows surface abrasion. The well has been half-way cleaned and some buyer may take issue. Please examine photos closely. The back is stamped with the production #1009, the Heintz Metal Art Shop Logo Sterling on bronze Pat Aug 27 12.
