Rare Vintage Bausch & Lomb Pre Ray-Ban Wayfarer Black Sunglasses 1950's - $225 - (Timberville, VA)

Rare pre-Ray Ban Bausch & Lomb wayfarer sunglasses. All original. Hinges (7 barrel) are in perfect condition. Green lens. The lens are prescription. The left lens is in pristine condition. The right lens has an almost imperceptible scratch less than 2 mm long. The scratch is only visible when holding the lens up to a bright light. Inside of both temples read: Bausch & Lomb 4 1/4 - 5 1/2. Outside of temples have an arrowhead like symbol. Left hinge is stamped with number 44 over the number 18. Right hinge is stamped with B&L. These sunglasses are in almost new condition. They haven't been worn for over 50 years. According to Bausch & Lomb history, the wayfarer design was introduced in 1952. The glasses were made before B&L began putting the Ray Ban logo on the temples - probably in the early 1950's. These are the same style sunglasses worn by James Dean.
