Very Rare 1854 Evans & Watson Salamander Bronze Safe Plaque - $950 - (Tampa, FL)

1854 Evans & Watson Improved Iron Salamander Safe Plaque. 26 South 4th St. Philadelphia. Natural oxidation and patina. This fire plaque employs many of the same elements as Herring's Patent Safe Plaque with obvious revisions. An eagle is now at center, and the plaque is larger to allow for more wording at the bottom. Perhaps some of the crisp detailing gets lost by the reuse of the mold. Nonetheless, this is a "much" rarer plaque than the Herring's Farrel, which you can probably find lots of on Ebay to show that.
