One of a kind original antique set of six matching Victorian Eastlake Parlor chairs with an Asian carved design and larger leafed design on the backs of the chairs. Six matched chairs, parlor castors on front legs, mid century green striped upholstery with original horsehair stuffing. Chairs were purchased in the 1960s/1970s and reupholstered, they were antiques then! The Eastlake style is from the late 1800s, early 1900s. This is a lovely set with unique detailing, hard to find a matching set of Eastlake chairs this large. The Asian style yin/yang design is unique and prominent. Upholstery on both sides of the backs of the chairs. Most Eastlake chairs of this era are walnut; these could also be oak. Exact wood and origin unknown. Have been used as dining room chairs. Darker wood paneling atop a lighter wood base. Measure 42" Height 18.5" Width at front 16.5" Width at back 18.5" Depth Perfect for display along a wall, or used around a table. Great original mid century fabric, can be kept or reupholstered. Condition note: Good condition for age with normal wear. Scratches and dings to wood, wear to upholstery and stuffing from regular use. One side panel missing. Horsehair stuffing coming out in a couple spots.
