Selmer Balanced Action alto sax from 1936 - $3,495 - (Muskego, WI)

Selmer Balanced Action Alto Sax Serial # 21204 Estimated Year Built 1936 This is a very early Selmer Balanced action could even have been built in 1935 Overall the sax body and keys are in pretty good shape. The pads are bad and does not play to low Bb. It needs a complete repad (overhaul) It has been re-lacquered. The lacquer is not original but in good condition. There are no major dents in the body, there is one very small ding in the neck. It does have the original case but it was stored in the basement so it has a musty odor. There is a mouthpiece cap and ligature but not the original Selmer mouthpiece so the extras are not worth anything. The engraving has some good areas and some areas that are thin from the re-lacquer job done. I believe the overhaul done was a B+ repair. Overall I don’t think it was poorly over-buffed just some of the engraving became a little thin. This alto is being sold as is.
