1988 ALF Suits Up ORIGINAL ART Ruff Illustration Coloring Book Pool Lifeguard Product Description"SATURDAY'S TOYS Presents..." an original rough animation illustration featuring ALF (aka Gordon Shumway) on duty as a Life Guard. Includes the original first generation drawing of Alf as shown on page 40 of the 1988 coloring book, "Alf Suits Up". Based on the NBC television series that aired from 1986 thru 1990: A.L.F. (Alien Life Form) Illustration was created by Roy Wilson (1939 - 2017), former animator, story, background and layout artist at the Walt Disney Studio (Robin Hood, The Rescuers, Fox and the Hound, Black Cauldron, Goof Troop, DuckTales, Darkwing Duck, etc.). Wilson's career has spanned over the industry for the past half century, working for nearly every major animation studio in Hollywood and beyond. Drawn in blue pencil and graphite pencil; representing page 40 (the final page) in the coloring book, "Alf Suits Up." Illustration was created on 10.5" x 12.5" animation paper; as shown. The original drawing was never meant to be preserved, but it was assumed it would be scrapped after the project was completed. However, the illustrator preserved the drawings with his own career archives, and they survive as rare original drawings created for an ALF merchandising project. Very good condition; with 1.5" tape applied to lower right corner; with illustration over the tape. Pages from the final book are also shown here; but the actual coloring book is not included in the auction (for illustration only).
