Metal underframe, bar-end trucks with operating couplers at both ends, brake wheel at one end. The body is free of nicks and has some marks in the paint (see photos #2 and 5) and rubs on some of the high portions of the body details. The silver is still shiny. Minimum wear on the wheels and no rust on door rails or rest of the metal parts. EXCELLENT 6464-50 Overstamped "Silver" Middle Classic Box This box is correct for the earliest versions of the -175 boxcar. The accepted story is that Lionel wanted the silver "Rock Island" boxcar available for the 1954 Christmas season but it was too late to print new boxes. Their solution was to use available 6464-50 "Minneapolis & St Louis" boxes, rubber-stamp over the name on the end flaps and print the word "SILVER" on all sides. This box has all flaps attached without tape with wear at the folds. The body is solid with one very minor crease and a few rubs. EXCELLENT PLUS
