1767 Land Deed-signed by FRANCES KEY, grandfather of FRANCES SCOTT KEY - $2,200 - (Sherwood, AR)

CONDITION: My Camera doesn't take professional photos, but can see them OK. ITEM DESCRIPTION: Original Land Deed - Cecil County Maryland, dated 3rd day of October 1767. Time has taken its toll! But the historic content is priceless. This deed has survived for this time in American history, to renew our pride in the founders of this great nation. Witness: “Nicholus Nylomd, third day of October in the seventeenth Year of our Dominion, and so forth, and in the Year of our Lord, One thousand Seven hundred and Sixty Seven.” On the back is written: Patrick Ewing Land Comm. Other names (witnesses) Rich’d Thomas, Geo. Johnson, Andrew Barratt, Wm. Rowland. Another name on back at the top of the sheet: Cecil County on the 28th day of February 1768 the within ____ Moses, Rich’d Thomas, George Johnson, and Andrew Barratt. Commissioners was duly qualified to Execute the within Comition, before Elihu Hall (Signed) SIGNED: Frances Key. Please keep in mind that this Frances Key was “Clerk and Attorney of Cecil County” and grandfather of Frances Scott Key of our “Star Spangled Banner.” (His grandfather’s name is still clear and untouched.) I’ve been extremely grateful that I was fortunate enough to be in the right place, at the right time many years ago, to be able to hold in my hand and purchase, such a marvelous historical document. It has survived many years. And, the years have left their marks, but this ole’ deed is still around. It is with great pride that I submit it now for others to enjoy and treasure. This item is from my personal historical collections which I’ve accumulated for many years. Most are worthy of museum preservation. Per: Revolutionary period, Civil War, WW I and WW II, (ie. massive amount of material from Nuremberg's I.G. Farben Chemicals trial), many land deeds, some with historical significance.
