1936 MARX POPEYE and OLIVE OYL JIGGERS TIN WIND UP TOY NICE CHARACTER TOY - $850 - (North Anson, ME)

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BELOW & VIEW ALL 8 PHOTOS & VIDEO BEFORE PURCHASING ~~Thanks We are pleased to offer for sale a very nice 1930's Marx Popeye and Olive Oyl Jigger tin wind up toy. The toy is working well and once wound and the lever on the front of the box is pushed down Popeye and Olive Oyl will move about the rooftop in a lively fashion (be sure to watch the video above). Popeye is hopping up and down and turning around in circles as Olive sways from side to side while sitting perched on a crate of spinach. Both Popeye and Olive Oyl were varnished some time ago apparently to preserve their nice finish. Varnish is sometimes added over the finish of antique toys to preserve the paint from flaking and fading. As such, the finish on this toy is excellent and well preserved with bright and solid colors and no rust. There is one small wrinkle along the very back edge of the roof approximately half way. The greatest paint wear is on some of the high spots and at the articulated joints of the Popeye figure. The toy is complete including olive's spring hair bun, and all original with the exception of the connecting rod (supplied by Tin Toy Works) under Popeye. A fine example of a very rare and desirable toy just waiting to be added to your collection.
