Up for bid is a beautiful set of Grenfell bookends made by the indigenous people of Labrador under the direction of Sir Wilfred Grenfell in the early 1900's. The earliest of these were done around 1909. They hold a great deal of their original shine, with minor paint loss and wear. The female has lost a bit of the hat point, and she is about 1/4" taller than her counterpart. She is about 6 1/2" tall. It is a set, numbered "40" just above the original paper tag. These are extremely rare, museum worthy, and an exceptional addition to anyone's collection. I will ship to Canada for actual shipping cost. Thanks for looking!
