Old Wire Gym Baskets locker - $4,200 - (Cedar Grove, WI)
you are bidding on a vintage gym locker with wire baskets. my dad had the job of tearing a school building down in iowa in 1974. the school was built around 1900 and had not been used since about 1960 so i'm guessing this locker was from the 40's or 50's. we had about 6 of these units and gave a couple away. several years ago my parents sold one to a movie prop company. the baskets are very collectible but not that hard to find. the actual original rack with the baskets is pretty rare. we have 3 units left and this one is the most complete and correct. it measures 63 1/2 in wide, 80 1/2 in high and 13 1/2 in deep. there are 40 baskets numbered 40-80. the baskets are kaspar wire works shiner texas and the rack is berger republic steel corp youngstown ohio. this rack and baskets were in storage at my parents for many years and show the right patina. the only thing that is not exact is for some reason they had basket number 155 in the 55 slot and basket 78 in the 77 slot. there are original wheels on the rack. if you are looking for that hard to find item that doesn't come along often, here you go. must be picked up here. we are about a half hour north of milwaukee wisconsin.
