Here’s an important African Akuaba doll linked to the Fante people. Their Ashanti Akuaba counterparts are better known (the ones with disc shaped heads). This Fante specimen has a dry natural encrusted patina and is an old specimen. The old sticker on the back of the base dates to the 1930’s.
