1917 Converse Big C basketball shoes hightop tennis sneakers Antique vintage old - $725 - (Dixon, IL)

Offered is a rare advertising panel from a cardboard lithograph sign. The sign has tons of appeal with a die cut top identifying the Converse Rubber Company's 1917 Big C shoes. This gem features a circa automobile with Converse Cord identified on the spare tire on the left side with a man and a woman in tennis clothing ready for a match. The theme continues with a match in progress on the right side of the sign. A Boy Scout is depicted wearing the Converse leather high top basketball shoes. This is one of the earliest advertising signs showing Converse shoes on a subject in action. Color is strong and has great theme. This has been preserved but looks like it is missing end panels from both sides. This is a great chance to pick up a lithograph antique poster sign featuring American advertisement. Measures 30 x 26 and has damage and wear to the edges all the way around. Overall condition is fair to good based on the fad to the top, edge chipping and few tack or pin holes and missing the edge panels.
