Evette & Schaeffer American Trumpet - $289 - (Lawson, MO)
OUTSTANDING playing horn without the well-known pedigree. This is an Evette & Schaeffer trumpet made in the 60's as far as I an tell. Large bore .468 I am told, although I have not measured. Plays like smaller IMHO. Solid slotting, very even tone and simply a joy to play! I bought this for my son to play for a couple of HS gigs, and it's time for him to move on from it. Beautiful example of European trumpet craftsmanship...priced like a student horn!~!~ Here are the condition details: *lacquer is 90% with basically only hand contact areas missing. No signs of major trauma, very straight and clean. Lead pipe is clean inside but there is a small ping on the outside that translates marginally inside. The bell is pretty clean and straight but I just found a small crack which is shown in pics. No discernible impact to sound and playability though! Valves show some light signs of wear but valve compression is solid... Case appears to be original and is in very good shape.
