RARE ANTIQUE T J & J MAYER BLUE & WHITE LONGPORT PLATTER LADIES FISHING 1853 - $225 - (London, ON)

Rare blue and white platter in the hard to find Longport pattern measuring 15 3/8" by 12". Beautiful pattern very similar to the Florentine pattern. There are well dressed ladies on the shore with a fishing line with lush scenery surrounding them; including a bridge and mountains in the distance. Crisp color and striking chintz like border. This platter is in superb condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. It doesn't appear as if this platter was used much. Marked with impressed registry diamond which dates this platter to October 22nd, 1853 as well as the maker's name. Purchased from the auction of a fourth generation estate.
