Empire Console, France, Circa 1805-1815 French Egyptian Napoleon Mahogany Sphinx - $3,800 - (Lockport, IL)

A very good French Napoleonic pier table or console. The two front legs are ebonized mono-ped of a lions foot leading to a parcel gilt winged sphinx with an armored breastplate torso. Appears to be the undisturbed original mirrored back. Condition: excellent antique condition, with expected wear, light restorations, and a wonderful patina. Stable, sturdy and very well constructed. Dimensions:44 1/4" wide, 17 3/4" deep, 38" high. Pickup in Lockport IL, or Greater Chicago area delivery is available.
