Rowland & Marsellus was the mark of a New York City importing company that was in business from about 1892 until 1937. During those years, the firm imported quantities of souvenir dishes made in Staffordshire, England for use as mementos of various American cities, colleges, famous persons, etc. The cobalt blue transferware has a slight flow blue look to it. Plates measure about 10" diameter. Pre-owned and are in good condition. One plate,”Washington Crossing the Delaware,” is included in the lot but was broken some time ago and glued together. I have include it in the lot to make an even number of plates for a wall arrangement. It is free of charge.
