VERY RARE 1st Edition, "Spirit of America" Red Hats Vanmark Statue - $850 - (Willows, CA)
This extremely rare figurine is the ORIGINAL 2001 Vanmark "SPIRIT OF AMERICA" beautifully detailed. It was released as part of the 'Red Hats of Courage' line that honors the firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty during the September 11th terrorist attack on the New York World Trade Center. It depicts the firefighters raising the flag over the rubble at Ground Zero. They were produced shortly after the 9/11 attacks 14 years ago. However, only a few were sold because they were immediately recalled by the manufacturer and taken off the shelves. Because of copyright issues, Vanmark was not allowed to sell the "Spirit of America", and was forced to recall and 'destroy' all but the remaining few figures that had already shipped out. Vanmark produced a 2nd edition in 2002, which is called the "Image of Hope", that Vanmark markets as another 1st edition. But this is the true 1st edition! It has been speculated that very few of the original “Spirit of America” were sold before the remaining ones were destroyed, so these are extremely rare. This may be your only chance to get one of these original 1st edition figurines, so do not hesitate to buy. This is in the original packaging with original numbered certificate of authenticity.
