I have a little experience in playing the bassoon, and with that said, the pads and corks on this instrument are in excellent repair and are quite suitable for playing. Please keep in mind that this is my observation and opinion. The instrument is most likely more than 25 years or older. It's really quite clean, but definitely shows signs of use. The sounds that the instrument produces still has a good quality to it. Overall, I'd call it a pretty good older bassoon. Your satisfaction is guaranteed.
