RARE PRE CIVIL WAR MASS MILITIA BELT RIG BUCKLE PLATE NON DUG RELIC NAMED ID'D - $1,600 - (Dallas, GA)

Pre civil war circa 1830's Massachusetts militia waist belt plate and belt with cartridge or cap box, complete belt rig, leather is very dry with some damage, plate is in great condition with deep patina and has all the original dirt and grime as it has not been cleaned. I will include a framed document from the Military Order Of The Loyal Legion Of The United States dated November 30th 1903 and signed by the Commander In Chief, pertaining to Second Lieutenant George Washington of the 12th Massachusetts Infantry who wore this belt and died on October 30th 1862, the document also refers to his Grandson Philip Augustus Davis who served in the Spanish American war under co I 6th REG U.S. I will be listing another auction for some of Philip's items from the Spanish American war which will include a document from the Common Wealth Of Massachusetts honoring his service in the war and signed by Gov Bates. if you are interested in both lots message me, thanks for looking, please see my other listings
