Antique Chinese Export China Silver Carved Carnelian Small Trinket Box Chased OUTSTANDING estate find! This is an outstanding antique Chinese export China silver hand chased or etched small trinket box (perhaps snuff) with a gorgeous floral carved carnelian gemstone cameo medallion. The small box is ornately decorated with a lovely flower and leaf motif on the lid top. Atop and in the center is a deep carnelian medallion which has been carved with a coordinating floral and leaf pattern. The box is marked or stamped or impressed on the backside "CHINA SILVER". The silver content ususally ranges between 800 - 925 for these import piece. The box measures 1 5/8 inches by 1 3/8 inches to include the "tab".
